Boehme comes from five back to take home title in the boy 16-18 division

 

Burnett storms to victory in the girls 16-18 division

 

Plunkett wins in OT in the boys 12-15 division

 

Shelly coasts to victory in the girls 12-15 division

 

Brunswick, Georgia-The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour held its third event of the season in Brunswick, Georgia at Coastal Pines Golf Course. The weather for both rounds of the tournament was in the mid 60’s with sunshine on Saturday and Clouds on Sunday.

 

In the boys 16-18 division, John Boehme from Jacksonville Beach, Florida fired a round of three under par 69 to come from 5 shots behind. Boehme threw in two birdies and an eagle on his way to victory. Boehme went out in 3 under par 33 and came in with an even par 36. Shiloh Snow from Blackshear, Georgia shot rounds of 76 and 75 for a two day total of 151 which secured second place. Bryan Llyod from Fernandina Beach, Florida rounded out the top three with rounds of 75 and 77 for a two day total of 152.

 

It took a one hole playoff to crown the champion in the boys 12-15 division. Matthew Plunkett from St. Augustine, Florida shot a Sunday 76 to come from two strokes behind to take the title. Plunkett defeated Andrew Ullmann from Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida on the first playoff for a two day total of 156. Ullman shot two rounds of 78 to finish in second place. Savannah, Georgia natives William Grotto and Christopher Jodis finished in a tie for third place with two day totals of 162.

 

In the girls 16-18 division, Brunswick native Katie Burnett stormed to victory with rounds of 72 and 77 for a two day total of 149. Burnett finished with a 19 stroke victory. Jenny Payne from Bluffton, South Carolina came in second place with rounds of 83 and 85.

 

In the girls 12-15 division, Jacqueline Shelly from Fernandina Beach, Florida carded rounds of 78 and 79 to earn first place honors. Shelly took a comfortable lead into Sunday and never looked back. Jenna Gimbel from Ponte Vedra Beach finished in second place with a two day total of 177.
