The HJGT Tour Championship at Saddlebrook Resort

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour will wrap up the 2008 season with the Tour Championship at the beautiful Saddlebrook Golf Resort just north of Tampa, Florida. The tour championship will be the largest and strongest field of the year and will feature players from nine states and three different countries. The tour championship carries numerous exemptions into prestigious events throughout the southeast. The tour championship will also be ranked by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard and Golfweek/ Titleist.
On Saturday evening, the HJGT will be holding a formal banquet to honor the top players of 2008. College coaches will also be on hand to deliver informative speeches followed by a Q and A session. SKLZ becomes Official Partner

Jacksonville, FL – The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced Tuesday that SKLZ will become an official partner of the tour. SKLZ is a sports skill development company that delivers the most innovative and effective training products available. SKLZ will be providing the overall boy and overall girl winner of each HJGT tournament with a Gyro Swing training club. Inner City Youth Golfer’s named Benefitting Charity of the HJGT

Jacksonville, Florida-The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced Wednesday that Inner City Youth Golfers’, Inc. (ICYG) and its nationwide partners network has been named as the national benefiting charity of the HJGT. ICYG is a Florida not for profit corporation which received its 501 (c) (3) tax exempt status in 2000.
They have been able to expand their organization to several locations due to their unique approach of combining golf and education. ICYG provides children between the ages of 7-18 an opportunity to learn, play, and enjoy the game of golf. They also instill the life skill values that will stay with them as they mature. Read More
Johnson and Wales University to become Tournament Series Partner

Jacksonville, Florida - The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour announced Wednesday that Johnson and Wales University Golf Management Program will become a tournament series partner in 2009. The Johnson & Wales University Tournament Series will consist of three tournaments in 2009. Tournaments presented by the JWU Golf Management Program include events in Ponte Vedra Beach, Tampa and Charleston. Read More
New Age Divisions Announced for 2008-2009 Season
Jacksonville, Florida- The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour has announced that a new structure to age divisions will take place in October of 2008. Beginning with the Orange Park Junior Classic in October, players will have more equity in their age divisions and yardages will also be adjusted accordingly. Junior golfers between the ages of 10-12 and 10-14 will now have their own age division’s to compete in .The following is a list of age divisions that will be effective beginning October 4, 2008: Tour Policies
Boys 16-19
Boys 13-15
Boys 10-12
Girls 15-19
Girls 10-14
*Points for boys 10-12 division will begin October 4, 2008 but honors and awards will not begin until the 2009 season. 15 year old girls will continue to earn points in the 12-15 division until January 2009. Please contact headquarters with any further questions.
