About Us
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour is a year round junior golf tour that is designed to promote exceptional junior golf. We are dedicated to the success of our juniors and want to see them thrive through competitive golf while making the experience one that they will never forget! During the school year we will be conducting events on weekends. Throughout the summer, tournaments will be on both weekdays and weekends. The tour began operation in 2008 and conducted events in the states of Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina. The HJGT will continue to offer an affordable regional program that will consist of free membership and low entry fees. All tournaments will be nationally ranked by the National Junior Golf Scoreboard (njgs.com) and select events will be ranked by Golfweek/Titleist.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour was founded with the intention of providing junior golfers between the ages of 10-18 an opportunity to play exceptional courses in a competitive environment. Our vision is that we provide superb hospitality and make every event a memorable one. Play is open to both males and females. The following is a list of age divisions:
Boys 16-19
Boys 13-15
Boys 10-12
Girls 15-19
Girls 10-14
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour has set up a point’s race which will run throughout the year. Each and every tournament the HJGT conducts, there will be points awarded for top ten finishers in each division. At the end of the year, the HJGT will conduct its year end tour championship. The tour championship will be an invitational for those who have won a tour event and those who have accumulated the most points. We will award the points champion in each age division with a trophy presentation prior to the tour championship.
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour will conduct a total of three major championships throughout 2009. Major championships will be worth 1.5 times the normal point structure. The HJGT majors are listed under the rankings, honors, and exemptions page.
